The Disaster Recovery Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) is for victims of the recent flash flooding in Independence. Roughly 20 homes were severely damaged or destroyed in the July flash floods, and this impacted dozens of families.
The free event on Saturday, August 2 is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fairmount Community Center at 217 S. Cedar Avenue. Bring proof of address (photo ID, utility bill, or lease) to receive services.
The goal is to help residents connect to non-profit organizations, access housing and food assistance, and provide guidance as residents navigate the aftermath of the recent floods.
