Services Division

The Independence Fire Department Services Division is staffed by one Assistant Chief and one Battalion Chief .  

This division is responsible for the following: 

1) Budget: Assisting Fire Chief in development, planning and management of department funds.

2) Fleet: 17 front line response vehicles, reserve apparatus and staff vehicles; purchasing, maintenance and all certification testing. 

3) Equipment and Supplies: Purchasing and maintenance on all operations. 

4) Training: Personnel on all new equipment placed in service. 

5) Project management:  Planning, design and construction of future fire stations.
