Our Stations
For more than 180 years, the Independence Fire Department (IFD) has provided fire protection and emergency services to the City of Independence. Today, IFD operates 10 strategically located fire stations across 78 square miles, serving more than 120,000 residents. From these stations, our firefighters and staff respond to more than 27,000 emergencies each year. Together, these facilities house 15 frontline apparatus and serve as the home base for IFD's 190 dedicated professionals.
