Fire Station Projects

Independence continues to grow, and that means our city services grow with it. The City of Independence is renovating and building three fire stations with the voter-approved public safety sales tax passed in November 2021, reflecting the community's investment in public safety.

As part of a comprehensive citywide plan to modernize fire stations, each new or renovated facility will include consistent core amenities to support firefighter health, safety, and readiness. These shared design elements ensure all crews, regardless of assigned station, have appropriate spaces to eat, rest, train, and decompress that support both physical and mental well-being.
