People shopping at the Independence Summer + Fall Farmers Market at the Uptown Market

The Independence Farmers Market offers fresh produce, meats, baked goods, plants, jams, jellies and more from local and regional vendors. We are a growers-only market, meaning everything you see is grown or made within a 100-mile radius of Independence!

Our location at the Independence Uptown Market allows the market to operate nearly year-round, with a May-through-October summer season and a December-through-April winter season. The Independence Uptown Market includes a covered, open-air pavilion and an indoor pavilion, with restrooms available for public use.

Payment Options

SNAP/Food Stamps/EBT:

The Independence Farmers Market is proud to accept SNAP/Food Stamps and offer the Double Up Food Bucks program. Customers who shop at the market with their SNAP dollars get double the amount to spend on locally grown fruits and vegetables at the market.

Tokens:

Tokens are available to those who use an EBT card for SNAP/Food Stamps. All other customers must pay vendors directly.
