Volunteers are always needed in various capacities at the Palmer Center. Find out how you can get involved below.

Vital Volunteer Program

We have many dedicated volunteers who teach classes, assist in the kitchen, help with decorating for the holidays, prepare mailings, serve refreshments at events, serve on committees, and more.

Volunteer Instructors

Do you have a talent or skill you would like to share with others? We are looking for instructors and volunteers to teach new classes and host activities. Class topics include crafts, art, computer, educational, health, fun and games, fitness, inter-generational, etc. Volunteers are also needed to serve meals at the daily nutrition site. 

Palmer Center Advisory Council

The Palmer Center Advisory Council consists of up to thirteen members who represent the many components of the Independence Parks, Recreation, Tourism Senior Deivision. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. The minutes for each meeting are posted in a binder at the front desk. Please request an application if you are interested in serving when vacancies on the council occur.
