Independence Power & Light is a proud partner to the many schools located in Independence. We are happy to provide schools with a selection of educational materials about electricity, electrical safety, and energy conservation. Many of our employees are "Youth Friends" and enjoy participating in volunteer activities that support our schools, teachers and kids.

Hazard Hamlet

IPL staff are available to visit classrooms and special school events, such as safety fairs and science fairs, to discuss electrical safety. Our "Hazard Hamlet" display is the perfect way for elementary school kids to learn how to stay safe around electricity.

To schedule a visit to your school, contact IPL at (816) 325-7485 or by email.
