Lisa Reynolds
A lifelong Independence resident, Deputy City Manager Lisa Reynolds brings extensive leadership experience across both the public and private sectors. She has dedicated more than two decades to municipal service, including nearly half of that time serving the City of Independence.
In August 2025, the City Council appointed Reynolds as Interim City Manager, a role she held until April 13, 2026. Prior to that, she served as both Director of Municipal Services and Deputy City Manager in 2024.
Reynolds’ career reflects a foundation built on practical experience and a deep understanding of municipal operations. She began as a Facilities Technician with the City of Lee’s Summit and has since worked for four municipalities and in the private sector, primarily in facilities and utilities. Her experience spans operations, infrastructure, and organizational leadership.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Computer Information Systems from Park University and is a Certified Public Manager through the University of Kansas.
Reynolds is also a trailblazer within the organization, becoming only the second woman to serve as Assistant City Manager in Independence’s nearly 200-year history and the first to hold the position of Deputy City Manager.
