Engineers close portion of Kentucky Road for safety concerns

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - A portion of Kentucky Road is closed for the foreseeable future due to bridge safety concerns.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, engineers issued an emergency closure for the road.  It will remain closed while a safe solution is implemented.

Drivers are asked to detour using Liberty Street, U.S. 24 Highway, and Dickinson Road.

 

The City of Independence understands this is an inconvenience, but the primary concern is the safety of motorists.
