Visit Independence Unveils New Brand Identity, Ushering in a Fresh Chapter for a Storied City
Visit Independence announced the launch of its new Destination Marketing Organization and brand identity, marking a new era of synergy and hospitality for one of America’s most historic towns. The new brand reflects both the timeless character of Independence and the momentum building across the city, inviting visitors and residents alike to see the community through a renewed lens.
“Independence has always been a place with stories worth telling,” said Allison Calvin, Visit Independence Executive Director. “This brand helps us tell those stories in a way that feels true to who we are—humble, resilient, and full of heart.”
Reintroducing Visit Independence
The new brand celebrates what locals have long known: Independence is a town shaped by history and strengthened by community. Rather than simply presenting facts, the new identity invites people to feel the city’s spirit—one built on steadfast roots, neighborly warmth, and experiences you can’t find anywhere else.
For residents, the brand reflects a familiar truth: people wave here.
For visitors, it signals an invitation: Come for whatever reason. Leave with a different one.
A Momentum Moment for the City
The new brand arrives at a time when Independence is experiencing renewed excitement—from growing tourism and revitalized public spaces that underscore the community’s forward momentum.
“This is more than a new look,” said Charlie Dissell, Visit Independence Board President. “It’s a celebration of the energy rising across our city. Independence is stepping confidently into the future while honoring the stories that brought us here.”
New Visitors Guide & Website Coming Soon
As part of this new brand rollout, Visit Independence is developing two flagship tools to support and inspire travelers launching early 2026:
- A completely redesigned Visitors Guide
Crafted to bring local stories to life, highlight hidden gems, and create a more intuitive
experience for trip planning. - A new VisitIndependence.com website
Designed to be welcoming, and more reflective of the city’s authentic character—helping visitors discover everything from presidential history to family adventures to food worth slowing down for. Together, these resources will serve as the front door to Independence, making it easier for visitors to explore and for residents to share the city they love.
