After more than a year of dedicated work and community input, the Independence Parks and Recreation "Ready to Play" Master Plan is final! On April 8, 2026, the City Council officially adopted the recommendations made by Pros Consulting. This plan features strategies to enhance recreation programming, facilities, trails, and parks for the benefit of all Independence residents.
