Butterfly Watering Dish – Tuesday, 6/4/24 at 10:00 a.m.
Design a beautiful new garden accessory that will help keep the butterflies cool.

Pop and Paint – Wednesday, 6/5/24 at 10:30 a.m.
Sip on some soda while you paint a unique design.

Bird Watching at George Owens – Thursday, 6/6/24 at 12:30 p.m.
Learn about and watch native birds at George Owens.

Signs of Elder Abuse – Tuesday, 6/11/24 at 10:30 a.m.
Learn the signs of elder abuse and what you can do to prevent and report it.

Family Game Day – Friday, 6/14/24 at 12:30 p.m.
Bring your family in for some snacks and games!

History of Juneteenth – Tuesday, 6/18/24 at 12:30 p.m.
Learn why we celebrate Juneteenth and why it is important.

Disney Daydreams (Marceline, MO) – Thursday, 6/20/24 at 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tour the Walt Disney Hometown Museum located in the heart of Marceline, MO where Walt Disney grew up. After visiting the museum, enjoy an included lunch at JJs on Main with your choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger, or grilled chicken sandwich with tater rounds and a beverage. Our next stop will be the Disney Family Farm where you can view the barn and Walt’s “Dreaming Tree” where Walt would often sit and draw or imagine stories. You’ll have free time on Mainstreet to browse the unique shops before returning to Independence.

New Theatre- Newsies – Wednesday, 7/24/24 at 10:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Enjoy a wonderful lunch buffet followed by the hit musical Newsies, an inspiration tale of a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life. Deadline to pre-register: 6/21/24 Price: $63.

Powell Gardens - Butterfly Festival – Wednesday, 7/31/24 at 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Explore tropical and native butterflies alongside stunning botanic displays at Powell Gardens. A box lunch is included. Deadline to pre-register: 6/21/24 Price: $69.

Travel Program Preview – Tuesday, 6/25/24 at 1:00 p.m.
Join fellow travelers for refreshments and learning about the trips planned for the remainder of 2024.

Nutrition Expo – Friday, 6/28/24 at 1:00 p.m.
Come for Nutrition and Healthy Eating Education, Recipes and Cooking Tips, Information on Food Resources, and Refreshments.
