Parks, Recreation and Tourism
The Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is dedicated to providing a variety of leisure, wellness and educational opportunities for Independence residents and visitors through well-maintained parks, aquatic facilities, historic sites, and museums. Special events, programs and classes are available throughout the year for families, adults, seniors and children of all ages and abilities.
