Independence Warns Utilities Customers of Increase in Scam Attempts During Holiday Season

The holiday season is underway, and scammers took the opportunity to take advantage of City of Independence customers. Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 26, customers reported receiving calls which appeared to be from the City of Independence Utilities Department.

Kentucky Road just east of Courtney Road is closed for the foreseeable future. It was closed November 21 due to bridge safety concerns.

The Independence Harry S. Truman Award Commission will present the 2024 Harry S. Truman Public Service Award to former Governor Jay Nixon during the presentation ceremony on Friday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum.
